Thessaloniki offers a wide range of historical architecture, as it was already an important city for the Roman Empire and in the Byzantine Era; later conquered by the Ottomans it is the 2nd largest Greek city today.
Greek's cultural capital features almost anything. From open air theatres to operas in the Concert Hall, from the International Film Festival in spring to the most extraordinary museums you can think of.
After having spent a day with lots of culture, relaxing at one of the urban beaches can be pleasant, or revelling in the vibrant nightlife of the European city with the highest rate of café's and bars per person.
